New 2011 Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger Top Safety Picks by Insurance Institute for Highway Safety

Two new Chrysler Group LLC vehicles, the 2011 Chrysler 300 and the 2011 Dodge Charger, have been named Top Safety Picks for 2011 by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), marking the first time both vehicles have achieved the highest ratings.

The new Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger join five other Chrysler Group LLC vehicles that were named Top Safety Picks by the IIHS in December. Dodge Avenger and Journey, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Patriot, when equipped with optional side airbags, and the Chrysler 200 were recognized for superior crashworthiness.

To be considered, vehicles must have available electronic stability control (ESC) systems that significantly reduce crash risks. Both the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger have standard ESC. Other standard safety features including full length side curtain airbags, seat-mounted side thorax air bags, driver’s knee bag, front-row reactive head restraints, Hill Start Assist, Rain Brake Support and Ready Alert Braking

Dodge vehicle drivers get free owner's manual app

Android, iPhone and Blackberry owners who drive Dodge vehicles got a boon today with the announcement of the new Mopar app, a digital owner's manual that also records maintenance details and displays video demonstrations of car features.



Mopar contains everything that would normally be in a paper owner's manual, including vehicle operation guides, warranty information and maintenance details. As a bonus, Dodge can make updates to the manual through the cloud whenever it's required.
Users can also connect to 24-hour roadside assistance, customer care and various Dodge social media sites, as well as access video demonstrations of car features.
Dodge has apps available for multiple cars, including the Charger and Durango, with more to come this month.

Chrysler Group LLC Meets First of Three Performance Events; Fiat Increases Ownership to 25 Percent

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Jan. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Chrysler Group today announced that Fiat's ownership interest in the Company has increased from 20 percent to 25 percent upon the Company's achievement of the first of three performance-related milestones.
As outlined in its June 10, 2009 Operating Agreement, Chrysler Group issued an irrevocable commitment letter to the U.S. Treasury stating that the Company has received the appropriate governmental approvals and will begin commercial production of the Fully Integrated Robotized Engine (FIRE) in its Dundee, Mich., facility. As a result, Fiat's ownership interest increased automatically under the terms of the Operating Agreement.
The ownership interests of Chrysler Group's members are now:

UAW VEBA	63.5 percent
Fiat	25.0 percent
U.S. Treasury	9.2 percent
Canadian Governments	2.3 percent

The first North American application of the 1.4-liter FIRE engine with MultiAir Technology will be in the new Fiat 500, which Chrysler Group will begin to distribute soon through newly appointed dealers.
Fiat has the opportunity to further increase its ownership in Chrysler to 35 percent, in 5 percent increments, through two additional performance-related milestones. The first milestone relates to revenue and sales growth outside of the NAFTA region. The second milestone relates to commercial production in the United States of a 40-mile-per-gallon vehicle based on Fiat platform technology.
